WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The ongoing Mackey Complex project will affect traveling to and parking for Purdue men's and women's basketball games during the 2009-10 school year. It will impact the parking lots, entrances to Mackey Arena and pedestrian traffic on Northwestern Ave.

Mackey Arena gates A, B, D and F are open for ticketed fans to enter and exit. Gate C is closed permanently and Gate E is available as an emergency exit only. Spectators will not be able to enter through Gate E.

Purdue students, including members of the Gold Mine, the Paint Crew and VIP card holders should enter through Gate B.

The F lot has been moved permanently north of its previous location. Fans utilizing the F lot should use the sidewalk east of Mollenkopf and follow it past the IAF to Mackey Arena. A new, smaller G lot is open for the basketball season but requires a game day parking permit.

As for pedestrian traffic, spectators approaching the arena from Northwestern Avenue may cross the street at two designated locations. Uniformed police officers will be present to assist with pedestrian traffic. The two locations are:
1. The intersection of Dodge and Northwestern Ave.
2. The stoplight at Stadium Ave. and Northwestern Ave.

For fans needing assistance, shuttles will run from the North lots prior to and following the game. The pick-up/drop-off points for general public lots will be clearly marked.

Regarding road construction, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced that State Road 26 (S.R. 26) at County Road 300 West opened Oct. 29. County Road 500 West is scheduled to open Dec. 9.

The seventh-ranked Purdue men's basketball team takes on California at Pennsylvania in the first exhibition game of the season this Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Mackey Arena. The women's team will play host to Lindsey Wilson College on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. in exhibition action.
