  • WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Mackey Madness was a big success as the No. 21 Purdue volleyball team knocked off No. 19 Wisconsin 3-2 in front of the second largest crowd in school history. The Boilermakers won the match 22-25, 25-21, 27-29, 25-16, 15-9 in front of 10,570 fans.

To jump start the basketball festivities, the crowd was treated to a big surprise when the men's and women's basketball teams took the floor in street clothes and performed a choreographed dance. Both teams and coaches were introduced and the competitions commenced.

Five pairs of men's and women's players competed in a three-point shooting competition. The team of Jodi Howell and Keaton Grant won by each hitting a three-pointer from five spots on the floor in under a minute.

JaJuan Johnson was declared the winner of the dunk contest after slamming home a high-flying jam that started from the corner of the student section.

Both the women and the men held a 10 minute scrimmage to finish off the evening. Centers Danielle Campbell and Chelsea Jones were the high scorers for the women with four points each, while Robbie Hummel led the men with nine points and E-Twaun Moore had seven.
