WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Big Ten Conference announced the 2017-18 women’s basketball television schedule Thursday, unveiling 10 opportunities for the Boilermakers to play on national television. The schedule also releases the start times for the bulk of the conference season for the Old Gold & Black, as well as most of the non-conference home games.
The Boilermakers’ 10 television appearances are their most in a single-season since the birth of the Big Ten Network, including a pair of non-conference games for the first time. Purdue opens its TV slate with a non-conference battle against visiting Ohio University on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. ET, followed by a noon tip on Sunday, Dec. 17, opening the 2017 Basketball Travelers Inc. Invitational against Eastern Washington.
Half of Purdue’s 2018 Big Ten Conference schedule will air on national TV, with seven games appearing on the Big Ten Network and one on ESPN2. The TV listings begin in game five of the Boilermakers’ Big Ten schedule, playing at Iowa on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 4 p.m. Purdue plays three straight on the BTN, hosting Penn State on Sunday, Jan. 28, followed by road trips to Michigan at 8 p.m. on Feb. 1, and Illinois at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4.
The 2018 contest for the Barn Burner Trophy will air on the Big Ten Network as Purdue hosts Indiana at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, followed by a BTN road game at Maryland on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. and an ESPN2 appearance at Ohio State at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18. For the second straight season Senior Day will air live on the Big Ten Network, as Purdue hosts Michigan State for the regular season finale in Mackey Arena at 2 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 24.
