HRADEC KRALOVE, Czech Republic - Purdue defeated Sokol Hradec Kralove 83-61 on Wednesday in its third contest in five days in the Czech Republic.
The Boilermakers were led by Antionette Howard's 24 points and nine rebounds. The Duluth, Ga., native made 11 of 17 shots, including her one three-point attempt. She also had four assists. Howard had compiled 13 points and eight rebounds at the half.
Sam Ostarello recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds; five rebounds were on the offensive glass. She was a perfect 4 of 4 from field and made 4 of 5 from the free throw line to go along with four steals.
Drey Mingo scored 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds while KK Houser, a redshirt sophomore point guard who is back on the court after tearing her ACL last season, contributed 12 points, four assists and two steals. Chantel Poston had four steals.
All 12 Boilermakers saw action and all except one scored. Purdue won the battle of the boards, outrebounding Hradec Kralove 47-23.
Hradec Kralove was led by Michaela Horakova's 16 points and four steals. Center Barbora Vechtova recorded 13 rebounds, along with six blocks and five points.
Purdue took better care of the basketball on Wednesday, committing 18 turnovers compared to 28 against Karlovy Vary on Monday.
The Boilermakers trailed 37-35 at the half.
The travel party leaves Thursday morning for Bratislova, Slovakia, where they will spend two days before departing for Vienna, Austria, for the final two days of the European Tour.
