WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Head women's basketball coach Sharon Versyp and her staff, with the assistance of current players, will be conducting five basketball camps this summer that cover a wide variety of ages, interests and skill levels.
All Sharon Versyp Basketball Camps, with the exception of a one-day team camp at Ben Davis H.S., will be held on campus in Mackey Arena. Additional facilities may be utilized, but Mackey will be the primary site.
Things get started with the Fundamental Junior Skills Day Camp that runs June 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with lunch provided. The camp will feature quality instructors and will cover basic basketball skills for first through sixth graders.
The Player Development Camp will be held June 8 to 10 and is an overnight fundamental skills camp for youth going into grades six through 12.
Elite Camp, June 17 to 19, is an overnight, advanced skills camp that is recommended for girls who are starters on their varsity high school teams.
Both the Player Development Camp and Elite Camp can be attended as a commuter instead of utilizing the overnight accommodations on campus.
The women's basketball staff will be running two team events in June. The primary team camp will be held June 22 to 24 at Purdue and is open to varsity, junior varsity and AAU teams. A single-day shootout will be held off campus in a continued effort to take the Purdue experience to different parts of the state. This year's shootout camp will be held on June 16 at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis and is open to varsity and AAU teams.
