WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Head coach Sharon Versyp announced Wednesday that the second annual Purdue women's basketball golf scramble sponsored by their support group, the BOILERmaker NETwork will be held Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Elks Country Club in West Lafayette, Ind.
The festivities will begin with a putting contest at 10:30 a.m. The driving range and putting green will be available for participants and registration and the silent auction will open at 11:30 a.m. Lunch courtesy of Buck Creek Pizza will be served until approximately 12:30 p.m. with the shotgun start to the golf scramble at 1 p.m.
The cost to participate is $400 for each foursome or $100 for an individual golfer. Sponsorship opportunities also are available.
Prizes will be awarded for the longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt for both the men and the women. Additionally, there will be a hole-in-one contest for the chance at a new car courtesy of DeFouw Chevrolet-BMW.
The day's activities will conclude with a catered dinner, door prizes, awards for winners of the scramble and contests and the announcement of the silent auction winners. Tim Newton, the radio voice of Purdue women's basketball will serve as the master of ceremonies for the dinner.
Alumni, fans and golf enthusiasts are welcome to join in the fun. Those interested in playing are encouraged to sign up early as the field will be limited to 108 golfers this year.
