WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The 2017-18 Purdue women’s basketball season produced another 20-win effort for the Old Gold & Black, the 25th in program history and the ninth in 12 seasons under head coach Sharon Versyp. The Boilermakers left their marks all over the program record books, most notably by lone senior Andreona Keys.
The Boilermakers had four wins over AP Top-25 opponents, their most since 2006-07, and posted two of the top comebacks in program history. They rallied from 16 down in the season opener at Central Michigan, and recovered from 16-point, fourth-quarter deficit at Michigan, marking the largest fourth-quarter comeback all-time at Purdue. The Boilermakers set a single-game program record by hitting 73.5 percent from the field in an 88-73 victory over Penn State, posting the top single-game mark for any NCAA Division I team in 2017-18, the No. 9 all-time mark in NCAA history and the No. 2 single-game total by a Big Ten Conference team. Purdue also put together two of the top scoring runs in program history, going on a 42-4 run over a 14-minute stretch against Valparaiso and outscoring Wisconsin 32-0 over 14 minutes in conference play.
