Indiana High School All-Star Team
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Future Purdue women’s basketball players Cassidy Hardin and Kayana Traylor were named to the Indiana High School All-Star team Tuesday,2-of-13 players honored statewide and picked to play in a series of games against the state’s junior all-stars and Kentucky’s all-star team in June.
Hardin averaged 17.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game for Centre Grove High School, leading her team to a sectional title. She canned 96 3-pointers in her senior season, the most of any player in the state and the fifth-most in Indiana history, and was a nominee for McDonald’s All-America. Her 489 points this season were a single-season record for the Trojans.
Traylor averaged 21.4 points and 5.2 rebounds in her final season at Martinsville High School, leading the Trojans to a 17-9 record and sectional finals appearance before falling to Hardin’s Trojans. The 2018 McDonald’s All-America nominee scored 2,114 points in her career, setting the all-time scoring record at Martinsville, in addition to the most points in Morgan Country history. She also set career records at Martinsville for games played (98), assists (437), field goals (766) and free throws (472).
It marks the sixth straight season with at least one Boilermaker on the Indiana All-Star team, and the 15th and 16th Indiana All-Stars to come to Purdue under head coach Sharon Versyp.
The pair will play against the Indiana Junior All-Stars on June 6 before playing the Kentucky All-Stars on June 8 and 9, the second game to be played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
