McDonald’s All-America Nominees
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Future Boilermaker Dani Lawson was announced as a nominee for the 2017 McDonald’s All-America game Tuesday, marking the third straight season a Purdue women’s basketball signee has been on the national list. Lawson joins future teammates Dominique McBryde, Ae’Rianna Harris and Dominique Oden as nominees and is one of six players from Ohio to earn a place on the ballot.
Lawson hails from Hathaway Brown High School in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and has been pledged to the Boilermakers since 2013-14, set to follow in the footsteps of her mother Kay (Tucker) Lawson, who played for the Old Gold & Black from 1990-93. The future Purdue forward averaged 14 points, 13 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.8 steals per game in 2015-16, leading her team to a regional championship and state championship appearance. Lawson recently became the fifth 1,000-point scorer in Hathaway Brown history, and has helped the Blazers to wins in their last two outings.
