WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Courtney Moses scored a game-high 26 points to lead five players in double figures as No. 16 Purdue overpowered Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne in a 91-70 victory on Sunday. The Boilermakers' 91 points were a season-high as they outscored the Mastadons in the paint, 36-14, en route to making 54.2 percent (32-59) from the field, including 63 percent (17-27) in the second half.
KK Houser contributed 15 points, eighth assists and six rebounds and Whitney Bays had 13 points and five boards for the Boilermakers (6-2), while Liza Clemons added 11 points and made it a double-double with a career-high 10 rebounds. Sophomore April Wilson dished out a career-high nine assists as the Boilermakers helped on 28 of its 32 field goals, while senior Dee Dee Williams had her first double-digit scoring effort of the season with 10 points.
IPFW (4-6) battled back in the first half after a 16-3 Purdue run to trail by just five points at the break, 40-35. The Mastadons closed the gap to three early in the second half before Purdue began pulling steadily away and making 13 of its first 14 shots to lead by as many as 27 points heading into the final minutes. The Boilermakers out-rebounded IPFW, 35-22, and committed just 14 turnovers for the game.
Amanda Hyde led IPFW with 17 points, six rebounds and six assists.
