WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Courtney Moses scored a season-high 26 points and No. 15 Purdue held on to beat Northwestern 77-73 Thursday night.

Moses hit a three-pointer 19 seconds into the game for her 1,000th career point.

Taylor Manuel tied her season high with 16 points and Sam Ostarello had 10 points and 16 rebounds for the Boilermakers (16-3, 5-1), who bounced back from their first Big Ten loss on Sunday at Iowa. It was the seventh double-double of the season for Ostarello and the 12th of her career.

Drey Mingo also had 10 points for Purdue.

Northwestern trailed by 19 in the second half, but closed within 71-69 with 28 seconds to play after Dannielle Diamant's three-pointer. Moses made four free throws and Ostarello hit a pair in the final 25 seconds for Purdue.

Maggie Lyon led the Wildcats (9-10, 1-5) with 18 points. Kendall Hackney scored 17, Karly Roser had 14 points and eight assists, and Lauren Douglas scored 12 points for Northwestern.

Moses recorded her 1,000th point in her career in her 85th game as a Boilermaker, tying Jannon Roland for 10th fastest in school history to achieve the feat. The junior guard currently has 1,023 career points.

The Boilermakers return to action Sunday at Michigan State. The game is a 4 p.m. tipoff and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
