Life memberships are available at the Captain, MVP, All-American, Olympian, and Champion levels. For the Captain, MVP and All-American Life membership levels, contributions are to be made within 12 months. Life Olympian and Life Champion memberships may be paid over a three-year period and five-year period, respectively. All memberships, including life memberships, are transferable only to the surviving spouse.
Members at the Life Champion level leave lasting legacies for Purdue Athletics by endowing an athletic scholarship. A portion of the annual interest income is used to fund the scholarship. Donors may choose to endow a general athletic scholarship or one for a particular sport, major or attribute. By becoming a Life Champion, you provide a student-athlete with the opportunity to receive a Purdue education that includes tuition and fees, room and board, and books for one academic year.
Deferred gifts are encouraged because they provide lasting contributions for Purdue Athletics. These may include will provisions, or establishing a trust with the John Purdue Club as beneficiary. Irrevocable deferred gifts earn John Purdue Club priority points immediately. For more information on the Deferred/Planned Giving options offered at Purdue, visit the Planned Giving Web site.
Many companies participate in a matching gift program, allowing you the opportunity to increase your contribution to the John Purdue Club at no additional cost to you. For your convenience, the Purdue University Development Office has a search portal to find out if your company has a matching gift policy. Please consult with your employer for more information regarding their matching gifts policy.
Because gifts to the John Purdue Club fund athletic scholarships for all 18 intercollegiate sports, we strongly encourage unrestricted gifts. If, however, you wish your gift to go to a particular athletic program or purpose, indicate your wishes on your membership application and we will gladly comply.
