WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The NCAA released the first Rating Percentage Index (RPI) and the second coaches' panel rankings on Thursday, providing an update on potential NCAA Championship qualifier allocations for the pending qualifying tournaments. These two polls and the wrestlers' overall win percentage will determine the distribution of the 29 automatic qualifying spots to the various conference and regional tournaments across the nation in the next month.

The Boilermakers received favorable marks across both lists on Thursday, earning top-33 marks at seven of 10 weights in the RPI and six weights in the coaches' panel rankings. Five individuals nabbed marks in both, including returning NCAA Championship qualifiers Camden Eppert (125), Ivan Lopouchanski (149) and Braden Atwood (197). Sophomores Brandon Nelsen and Patrick Kissel scored spots in both rankings as well, looking for their first trip to the national tournament at 141 and 184 pounds, respectively.

Junior Cashé Quiroga, senior Tommy Churchard and freshman Chad Welch earned spots in one of the top polls as Quiroga was No. 17 at 133 pounds in the coaches' panel rankings, while Churchard owns the No. 16 mark at 157 and Welch is 29th at 174 pounds in the RPI. Quiroga currently touts a 7-1 mark on the season, sitting well above the required win percentage to secure an allocated bid for the Big Ten Championships at 133 pounds.
