Competed in 14 matches in his rookie campaign, going 6-5 at 165 pounds and 0-3 at 184 pounds ... went 2-1 at the Wisconsin Open (12/4), posting his first career major decision and fall en route to a second-place effort ... took second at 165 at the Cleveland State Open (12/11), going 4-1 with a major decision and a fall ... filled in at 184 pounds against Iowa (2/11), suffering a loss in his first career bout at the weight ... went 0-2 at the National Collegiate Open (2/19) ... earned a varsity letter.

Four-time varsity letterwinner at Oostburg High School; two-time Wisconsin State High School Champion, winning state titles as a junior and senior; placed third at the state meet as a sophomore; finished 158-9 in his high school career with more than 70 pins.

Patrick John Kissel was born May 13, 1992, in Sheboygan, Wis.; is the son of Andy and Tracy Kissel; has one sister, Jessica, and two brothers, Josh and A.J., who is also a member of the Purdue Wrestling team; enjoys hunting and the outdoors; majoring in organizational leadership and supervision.
