Completed an injury marred season with a 9-11 overall record and 0-6 in Big Ten Duals ... placed sixth at the season-opening Eastern Michigan Open (11/3) with a 4-1 record ... went .500 at the ACC/Big Ten Clash (11/17), Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (11/30-12/1) and Midlands Championships (12/29-30) ... bowed out of the Big Ten Championships with an ankle injury the week before the meet ... still finished fifth on the team with 34 takedowns.

Qualified for the NCAA Championships at 165 pounds, finishing the season at 27-16 (5-3 Big Ten) and placing fourth at the Big Ten Tournament (3/3-4) ... tallied the fourth highest single-season reversal total in school history, notching 18 on the year ... led the team with 82 takedowns and earned Most Outstanding Freshman award ... pinned his first collegiate opponent in the opening round of the Midlands Championships (12/29-30), sticking Sherwood Fendryck of Sacred Heart in 5:40 ... posted an undefeated 3-0 mark at the inaugural Boilermaker Duals (1/6), including a pair of major decisions ... earned his first career Big Ten win, topping then 11th-ranked Max Dean of Indiana 6-5 (1/19) ... won his opening-round NCAA match (3/15-17), defeating Tim Sayers of UT-Chattenooga by major decision, 16-8.
