WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The ninth-ranked Purdue wrestling team will host No. 24 Northwestern at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and No. 4 Minnesota at noon on Sunday. Both meets will be held in the Intercollegiate Athletic Facility. These will be the last two meets of the regular season before the Big Ten Championships.

Seniors Tim Dernlan, Eric Douglas, Mickey Griffin and Davion Peterson will be honored during Senior Day ceremonies before the meet with the Golden Gophers.

Dernlan is eighth at 118 pounds with a 17-4 record and three pins. Dernlan has struggled recently, losing three of his last five matches, but he looks to rebound this weekend against unranked Dominic Caruso of Northwestern and Brett Lawrence of Minnesota.

Griffin is 12th at 150 pounds with a record of 18-6 and three pins. Griffin has won nine of his last ten matches, but he faces No. 2 Chad Kraft on Sunday.

At 158 pounds, Douglas leads the Boilers with 23 victories, including his last five in a row. Minnesota will send No. 10 Josh Holliday to the mat to face Douglas.

Peterson got off to a shaky start but has won 17 of his last 20 matches. He picked up his first pin of the season last weekend against Indiana's Josh Greenspan.

Juniors Josh Hutchens (126) and Willie Wineberg (142) are Purdue's other two ranked athletes. Hutchens is 4-1 in conference action and leads the team with 10 reversals. Wineberg is 5-1 in the Big Ten with a team-high 103 takedowns.

Purdue, currently 15-2 overall and 5-1 in the Big Ten, has won six of eight dual meets against ranked opponents this season. Northwestern boasts three ranked wrestlers, while Minnesota has seven, including three in the top five.
