WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - This weekend is a huge weekend for Purdue athletics and men's tennis is no exception. The Boilermakers will be hosting their fifth annual Laith Al-Agba alumni weekend from Friday, Nov. 11 to Sunday the 13th.
The Purdue men's tennis alumni will come together for a weekend of socializing, tennis and other assorted fun in an event named in honor of the late Laith Al-Agba who played for the Boilermakers from 1998-2002. The goal of the weekend is to unite alumni with the current members of the Purdue tennis team to strengthen the bond of the Purdue tennis family.
This year's alumni weekend is even more special than usual because it falls on the Mackey Arena Dedication Weekend. This will mark the official opening of the regular season for men's and women's basketball teams in the newly renovated basketball arena.
The schedule of events for the Purdue men's tennis alumni will officially begin on Friday night at 8 p.m. ET as all will gather for dinner at Bruno's until 10 p.m. and watch the second half of the men's basketball game against Northern Illinois University. On Saturday, the alumni will meet inside the Schwartz Tennis Center for two hours of tennis fun and competition. Breakfast will also be provided. Following the alumni matches, there will be an alumni tailgate before the noon football game against Ohio State University.
All men's tennis alumni are welcome to attend the event, but are requested to RSVP with assistant coach Brandon Lenfert so that the team can provide the proper amount of food and shirts. Lenfert's email address is email@example.com.
