WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) Thursday announced that Purdue seniors Eric Hodgman and Kimbre Vogel were named to its Academic All-District V At-Large first team.

2007 Big Ten Player of the Year and sophomore golfer Maria Hernandez was placed on the All-District V second team. CoSIDA District V represents collegiate student-athletes competing in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ontario and Manitoba.

Vogel, a native of Monticello, Ind., recently graduated with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average with a degree Pre-Med/Health Sciences. A distinguished scholar athlete on Purdue's swimming team, Vogel earned semester honors and was named to the Dean's List and Athletic Director's Honor Roll in eight of eight semesters.

In Vogel's final year as a Boilermaker, she scored with the 200 and 400 free relays and the 200 medley relays at the Big Ten Championships and set personal bests in the 100 freestyle (51.51) and backstroke (57.74).

Hodgman, a four-year varsity letterwinner with the Boilermaker tennis team, graduated from Purdue earlier this month with a degree in Biological and Food Processing Engineering. The Kalamazoo, Mich., native was named to the Dean's List and received Semester Honors all eight semesters and was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

A member of the Mortar Board and Phi Beta Kappa scholarship honor societies, Hodgman recently was selected as the 2007-08 Ross Fellowship recipient for Purdue University's graduate school program.

Hodgman's and Vogel's names will next appear on the Academic All-America At-Large national ballot. The Academic All-America At-Large men's team will be announced Tuesday, June 12, while the women's squad will be released Thursday, June 14.

CoSIDA selects Academic All-America teams in 12 programs: football, women's volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's track & field/cross country, women's track & field/cross country, men's at-large and women's at-large.

Eligible sports in the CoSIDA At-Large program consists of women's bowling, women's crew, men's and women's fencing, women's field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo and men's wrestling.
