MADISON, Wis. - Two members of the Purdue men's tennis team opened action at the Big Ten Singles Championships on Friday. Arthur Dobradin and Szymon Tatarczyk had a tough day as they went a combined 0-3 in singles and doubles.

The duo paired together for doubles and started the day facing Alex Pasareanu and Mihir Kumar of Northwestern. The Wildcat pair knocked off the Boilermakers, 8-5. The loss dropped Dobradin and Tatarczyk to the consolation bracket. There, they face the Michigan State pair of Doug Zade and Will Davis. The Spartan pair came out on top, 8-5, to eliminate the two Boilermakers.

In singles, Dobradin was the only Boilermaker to compete on the day as Tatarczyk drew a bye. Dobradin faced Garret Dunn of Iowa. The Hawkeye defeated the Purdue freshman, 6-3, 6-1. Dobradin will face Christian Roehmer of Michigan State in the consolation draw. Tatarczyk will place in the main draw on Saturday against Michael Zhu of Michigan.
