Purdue men's tennis team (15-4, 7-2 Big Ten) improved eight spots to No. 28.
Boilermaker senior defeated a pair of ranked opponents last week.
With freshman Branko Kuzmanovic, beat the No. 54th nationally ranked team of Willy Lock and Matt Christian of No. 64 Northwestern 8-6 ... Won four-straight No. 1 doubles matches with Kuzmanovic towards end of 2007, beating teams from No. 66 Indiana, Iowa and No. 34 Minnesota; deeated the Golden Gopher duo of Nich Edlefsen and Sion Wilkins twice in the same week, 9-8 (5) in the regular season finale and 8-2 at Big Ten's ... Posted a 4-3 Big Ten Record with Kuzmanovic ... With Jose Fuenmayor, beat the Wisconsin No. 3 doubles team of Michael Dierberger and Michael Muskievicz 9-8 (4) ... Teamed with his younger brother P.J. to beat the Toledo No. 3 doubles team of Chris Clark and Wade Ward 8-4 ... Helped Purdue beat Harvard 4-3 with a 7-6 (5), 7-5 win over Scott Denenberg at No. 2 ... Won his final regular season match at home on Senior Day with a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Minnesota's Andres Osorio

Suffered an off-court injury following second weekend of competition ... of four singles opponents, three of them were nationally ranked by the ITA in its preseason poll (Brady Crosby of Western Michigan, Sheeva Parbhu of Notre Dame and Charlotte's Roy Sichel) ... posted a 1-3 doubles record with Kurt Zaske ... lone win was against Ball State's Epkey/Rodriguez (8-6) at the Notre Dame/Tom Fallon Invite ... lost to the No. 36 Notre Dame team of Keckley/Parbhu, 9-7 ... in the first round of the ITA Tournament, played the No. 9 Georgia Team of Flores/Isner to a 9-8 (6) score ... also at ITA's lost to the No. 29 Georgia Tech team of Molnar/North, 8-6.
Rose in 2005-06: Records -- Singles: 0-1 (0-0 Big Ten); Doubles: 0-2 (0-0 Big Ten) ... Missed most of season due to injury. Was limited to one spring dual match at singles and two fall season double matches with Scott Warner ... Began season on Sept. 6 with a No. 54 singles ranking.
Rose in 2004-05: Records -- Singles: 16-13 (1-5 Big Ten); Doubles: 9-17 (5-1 Big Ten)...achieved high ITA national singles ranking of 56th on Sept. 10; finished at No. 96 on June 3...for third straight year, led Purdue in singles wins...suffered knee injury at Illinois on March 4; appeared in singles lineup in just seven of Purdue's last 13 matches...was 15-6 in singles (5-1 spring) prior to injury...posted biggest upset against No. 26 Jeff Kader of William & Mary (6-1, 6-7, 1-0).
Rose in 2003-04: All-Big Ten ... led Purdue with 25 singles wins in 38 matches ... went 11-8 (5-5 Big Ten) at No. 1 ... played 12 matches against players ranked in the ITA's top 100, winning five ... posted biggest upset against No. 30 Pierrick Ysern of San Diego (7-6, 6-3) ... played the No. 1 player in the country twice (Jeremy Wurtzman of Ohio State and Brian Wilson of Illinois) ... debuted in the ITA rankings at No. 117 on April 20; finished at No. 102 on June 4 ... went 21-13 in doubles, pairing with five different teammates.
Rose in 2002-2003: Winningest Boilermaker, collected 24 singles victories in 34 tries... posted 22-8 doubles record... impressed in fall campaign, posting records of 8-5 in singles and 7-2 in doubles... won three of four singles matches at the USF Fall Classic... won three doubles matches with Scott Mayer at the Notre Dame Tom Fallon Invitational... started spring season with four straight singles wins... won six in a row from Feb. 23 to March 20... named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week for the week ending March 31... finished spring with 16-5 overall record and 7-3 Big Ten mark, playing primarily at No. 4 singles... collected 15 wins against four losses with Andrew Wakefield... pair won seven straight matches from March 29 to April 18... duo went 8-2 against Big Ten competition.
Rose at New Trier High School: Four-time all-state selection and member of New Trier's state champion teams as a sophomore, junior and senior... three-time sectional champion, team MVP and captain... placed third in the IHSA state tournament as a junior and senior; placed fourth as a sophomore... semifinalist at the Midwest Closed Doubles Championships and advanced to the round of 16 at the Spring Super National in 2001... won the doubles title at the Southern Open in 1999 and 2000...semifinalist in the Midwest Closed Doubles in 2000... Midwest Open Doubles champion in 1999.
