WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men’s swimming and diving team is ranked 19th in this month’s College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll released Tuesday.
The Boilermakers stand at 4-0 in dual meets and are unbeaten through the fall for the third consecutive season. The Boilermakers also finished first in the season-opening Indiana Intercollegiate for the ninth consecutive season, taking this year’s title with 928 points on Oct. 10, and placed third in last month’s Purdue Invitational.
The team already has four NCAA provisional-qualifying times recorded in the pool and has all six divers qualified for the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships. Aaron Koger, Matt Stewart and Sam Wilcher are all provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships, as is Purdue’s 800-yard freestyle relay team. David Boudia and David Colturi became part of history earlier this month when Boudia won his second straight Big Ten Diver of the Week Award following back-to-back honors for Colturi, making Purdue the first team in Big Ten history to bring home four straight Diver of the Week citations.
Purdue is one of five Big Ten teams ranked in the season’s second poll. Michigan leads the way in seventh and is followed by Minnesota in eighth and Ohio State in 12th. Indiana sits right behind the Boilermakers in 20th.
The Boilermakers return to action after the holiday break when they host Michigan State for a three-day meet Jan. 7-9. Admission is free, and live results from the Boilermaker Aquatic Center can be found at purduesports.com.
