David Boudia won Saturday’s platform diving competition, finishing only half of a point shy of his school record score, to complete a weekend sweep of the three events at the Texas Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame Invitational.

Boudia also won the 1-meter dive Thursday and the 3-meter Friday. He has been victorious in all 14 events in which he has competed this season.

Boudia posted a score of 537.65 after scoring above 80 on all six of his dives, capping his performance with an impressive score of 99.9 on a forward 4 ½ somersault tuck (109 C). That dive featured his highest degree of difficulty of 3.7.

Danny Cox (355.40) also competed in the platform for the Purdue men and finished fourth. The Purdue men’s divers scored 154 team points on the boards over the course of the weekend.

Erin Mertz (257.70) and Kara Cook (235.65) were in action in the platform event for the Purdue women, placing fifth and eighth, respectively.

The Purdue swimming and diving teams are not scheduled to compete again until Jan. 5 when they take part in the four-school Florida Atlantic Invitational in Boca Raton, Fla.
