IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Four Purdue divers are set to compete at USA Diving's AT&T Senior Nationals this week, with action set for Tuesday through Sunday at the University of Iowa.
Alec Back, Nate Cox, Sean Mokhtari and Layne Rogers have all qualified for the national event, which will feature over 130 competitors, a high percentage of which are active college divers. Rogers has the busiest schedule of any of the Boilermakers, competing in three springboard events.
In most events, the top 18 divers advance to the semifinals (if applicable) and the top 12 move onto the finals. The 1-meter finals will feature eight divers. Synchronized diving events also have fewer spots open in the finals due to a lower number of entries.
The University of Iowa's Campus Recreation and Wellness Center debuted during the 2010-11 school year, hosting the USA Diving Winter Nationals in February 2011. The facility was also the site of the 2012 men's and women's Big Ten Championships and is set to host the Zone C Championships in March 2014.
