Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center / Bloomington, Indiana

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue swimming & diving teams continue their January stretch of duals against Big Ten foes with their annual rivalry meet vs. Indiana, competing in Bloomington on Saturday.

The co-ed dual features the traditional 11 a.m. ET start for the Purdue-IU meet. Platform diving will again be featured among the 16 scored events, another customary feature of the rivalry meet. The divers will compete in all three events, but 3-meter will be a non-scoring exhibition.

Live video coverage of the dual will be available on BTN2Go.com and the BTN2Go app. BTN2Go is expected to offer coverage of the Big Ten Championships next month as well. BTN Plus webcasts on BTN2Go are offered as pay-per-view, but a monthly package purchased Saturday would extend through the Women's Big Ten Championships (Feb. 14-17). Fans connected to the internet network of any Big Ten university receive complimentary access to BTN2Go.

Saturday's dual marks the second time this season that the Boilermakers and Hoosiers have competed against each other. Indiana was among the six teams to have full co-ed representation at the Purdue Invitational in November. The Hoosier women won the three-day meet and the men finished second to Florida.

The Boilermakers have not had a co-ed meet on the road since the Oct. 13 season-opening dual at Miami (Ohio), which Purdue swept. The men's swimmers did compete against Hawaii during the winter training trip on Oahu. Beginning this weekend, the Boilermakers will be traveling around the Big Ten for the remainder of the season. Purdue flies to Minneapolis next weekend for the two-day Big Ten Trip Duals against Minnesota and Northwestern. The men return to the Twin Cities for Big Tens (Feb. 21-24) and NCAA Championships (March 21-24). Ohio State is hosting Women's Big Tens, the co-ed Zone C Diving Championships (March 8-10) and women's national championship meet (March 14-17).

However, there are two more meets on the schedule in February. Some men's swimmers for IU are slated to visit the Burke Aquatic Center the weekend of Feb. 17 to 18 for a first chance meet against selected members of the Purdue men's team. That meet is expected to return to West Lafayette in 2019 because IU's Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center is up next to host the Women's Big Ten Championships.

2017-18 DUAL MEET RECORDS
• Men: No. 3 Indiana is 7-0, Purdue is 4-2
• Women: No. 7 Indiana is 3-4, Purdue is 4-1

QUOTING THE COACHES
Dan Ross: "We will learn something from [our] people this week. The guys that are used to competing at a high level, relish this. Some of our guys may be a little bit afraid of it, so we're going to see what we're made of. It's going to help us pick our travel squad for the Big Ten meet. It's going to be tough and we've got to pick the guys we can count on."
John Klinge: "You've got to hope that it brings out the best in your team and individuals on the team. Certainly it adds some pressure. You see some people that need to experience that to help them get ready for even bigger moments in their swimming careers. I like the extra pressure. Regardless of what happens, it's a learning experience for the team and individuals, and helps them get ready for a better day."

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS AFTER LAST DUAL IN BLOOMINGTON
• The Boilermakers won seven events in their January 2016 visit to the Hoosiers' home pool for the annual dual meet. Kaersten Meitz's sweep of the distance freestyle events and Marat Amaltdinov's victory in the 200 breaststroke led to Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honors for both. Meitz is now a two-time Big Ten Swimmer of the Week. She added a victory in the 200 to her tally, teaming with Danielle Auckley to help the Purdue women sweep the freestyle events vs. IU last season in West Lafayette.
