2011-12: Academic All-Big Ten... Trimmer competed in eight different events, racing most frequently in the distance freestyle events... qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the 400m free... season-best times in the 500 (4:25.74, 2nd), 1000 (9:25.51, 4th) and 1650 free (15:31.30, 3rd) from the Big Ten Championships all ranked among the top five on the team in 2011-12... also competed in the 200 free at Big Tens... won the 1000 free and finished second to Andrew Starr in the 500 in the dual meet win against Michigan State... accounted for eight team points at the Ohio State Invitational, placing 12th in the mile and sixth in the B final of the 500 free... competed in the 50 free and the 100 back at the Indiana Intercollegiates... swam the 200 breast and 200 fly in the dual meet win against Miami.
2010-11: Trimmer competed in every freestyle event, seeing his most action in the 200, 500 and 1000... his season-best times in the 200 (1:39.14, 4th) and 500 free (4:26.31, 3rd) both ranked among the Purdue top five in 2010-11... posted both times at the Big Ten Championships, the 500 mark representing an NCAA provisional qualifying time... swam in the C final of the 500 free at Big Tens... also competed in the mile at Big Tens, finishing in a season-best time of 15:35.91... posted his season-best time in the 1000 free (9:28.07) at the Big Ten Quad, a meet in which he also competed in the 500 free and 800 free relay... swam the leadoff leg for the victorious 400 free relay team in the dual meet at Michigan State... competed in the 100, 200 and 500 free, reaching the B final of the 200 and 500... competed in the USA Swimming 10K Open Water National Championships at Fort Lauderdale Beach in June, his first open water competition.
Before Purdue: Four-year varsity letter-winner...bronze medalist in the 200 and 500 free as the PIAA state meet as a senior, earning All-American honors in both events...graduated with five individual school records, one relay record and two pool records...2010 Carlisle Sentinel Male Swimmer of the Year and also selected to the Patriot-News Big 12 swim team...PIAA district champion in the 500 free as a senior...also qualified for state in the 200 and 500 as a sophomore and junior...finished eighth in the 400 free at the 2009 long course YMCA Nationals...took eight in the 500 free at the 2010 short course YMCA Nationals...broke West Shore YMCA records in the 200 and 1650 free...2009-10 USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team...four-time scholar athlete.
