2011-12: Robinson competed in six different events, racing primarily in the 100 and 200 backstroke... season-best times in the 100 (50.70, 5th) and 200 back (1:50.83, 4th) from the Ohio State Winter Invite both ranked among the top five on the team in 2011-12... qualified for the C final of the 200 back at the Ohio State Invitational... also swam the 100 back, 100 fly and 200 IM (1:55.12) at the Ohio State Invitational... swam the 100 and 200 breast (2:15.18) in the dual meet win against Miami.

Before Purdue: Four-year varsity letter-winner and three-year Indiana state qualifier at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Ind.... helped his 200 free relay team win the state title as a sophomore... placed seventh at state individually in the 100 backstroke as a senior... also swam on state-qualifying relays as junior (400 free) and senior (200 free and 200 medley)... Hamilton Southeastern Newcomer of the Year as a freshman... National Honor Society... member of the academy of finance and student athletic council... D.A.R.E role model and set a good example award winner.

Personal: Full name is Jacob Stephen Robinson... born in Indianapolis... son of Eric and Cheryl Robinson, both of whom are Purdue alumni... family also includes older brother Drew, who swam collegiately at the University of Kentucky... his father swam for the Purdue in the 1980s... his grandfather Dale Robinson and uncles Charlie and Tim Dupin are also Purdue alumni... majoring in management with a career ambition of pursuing a career in business.
