2015-16: Bursch competed primarily in the 200 breaststroke and IM events... posted career-best times in the 200 (1:50.45) and 400 IM (3:56.11) along with the 200 breast (2:00.56) at the Big Ten Championships... ranked fifth on the team in the 200 breast and 400 IM in 2015-16... won his heat of the 200 breast at the Big Ten Championships... posted a career-best time of 58.75 in the 100 breast at the Indiana Intercollegiates... scored in the mile and won the C final of the 400 IM at the Purdue Invitational... also qualified for the C final of the 200 IM and 200 breast at the Purdue Invite.
2014-15: Bursch competed primarily in the 200 breaststroke, 200 IM and distance freestyle events... posted season-best times in the 200 breast (2:06.30) and the 1650 free (16:26.18) at the Michigan First Chance meet... season-bests in the 500 free (4:44.56) and 200 IM (1:54.89) were at the Minnesota Grand Prix... swam on the victorious 400 free relay team in the dual meet win at Notre Dame... qualified for the D final of the 400 IM at the Minnesota Grand Prix, a meet in which he competed in six different individual events.
Before Purdue: Four-year letterwinner for coach Jess Preston at Penn High School in Granger, Ind.... helped his 200 free relay team win the state title in 2014... honor roll student as an upperclassman.
