2013-14: Academic All-Big Ten... Hopkins competed primarily in the distance freestyle events... season-best times in the mile (15:09.37, 1st), 500 (4:24.89, 3rd) and 200 (1:39.45, 4th) free from the Big Ten Championships ranked among the top five on the team in 2013-14... posted the second-fastest mile time in program history at Big Tens, finishing ninth overall to account for nine team points... 1000 split (9:11.29) on the mile at Big Tens was good for third fastest in Purdue history... also moved into eighth place in program history in the 500 free... runner-up in the 1000 free (9:25.30) in the dual meet against No. 1-ranked Michigan... raced in the 100 fly in the season-opening Indiana Intercollegiates.

2012-13: CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All-America... Hopkins competed primarily in the distance freestyle events... team's most improved honoree... scored at the Big Ten Championships by placing 16th in the mile... posted season-best times in the 200 (1:39.31), 500 (4:27.26) and 1650 free (15:17.43) at Big Tens... season-best time in the 1000 free (9:40.60) was in the dual meet at Notre Dame... his season-best times in the 500 (4th), 1000 (4th) and 1650 free (2nd) all ranked among the top five on the team in 2012-13... in program history, moved to fifth place in the mile and 10th place in the 500 free with his season bests... accounted for 28 team points at the Purdue Invitational by placing fifth overall in the mile, seventh in the A final of the 500 free and seventh in the B final of the 200 free... also won heat 4 of the mile and helped his 800 free relay team win heat 1 at the Purdue Invite... won the 1000 free in the dual meet victory at Miami (Ohio)... won heat 4 of the 200 free at the Indiana Intercollegiates.

Before Purdue: Hopkins was a four-year Indiana state qualifier for coach Kyle Messmore at Westfield High School... state champion in the 500 free as a junior... two-time team MVP also qualified for the championship final of the 200 and 500 free as a junior and sophomore... qualified for the state meet in the 100 and 200 free as a freshman while being named the team's most improved athlete... WHS Athletic Honor Roll student... high school teammate of fellow Boilermaker Peter Koss... qualified for the championship final of the senior state meet in the 500, 1000 and 1650 free... 2011 Junior Nationals qualifier in the 400 and 800 freestyle.
