2013-14: Big Ten Distinguished Scholar... Academic All-Big Ten... Gutierrez competed primarily in the mid-distance freestyle events... posted season-best times in the 100 (45.89) and 500 free (4:31.45) at the Big Ten Championships... season-best time in the 200 free (1:40.05) was at the Minnesota Grand Prix... touched first among a tight three-man finish to win the 500 free in the dual meet victory vs. Michigan State... won the 200 IM (1:55.47) and took second in the 100 free in the dual meet win vs. Miami (Ohio)... raced in five events, including the 200 and 400 IM, at the Minnesota Grand Prix... competed in the 100 fly at the season-opening Indiana Intercollegiates... named among the team captains for 2014-15.

2012-13: Academic All-Big Ten... Gutierrez competed primarily in the 100 through 500 freestyle events... posted season-best times in the 100 (45.74), 200 (1:39.20) and 500 free (4:32.56) at the Big Ten Championships... his 500 free timed ranked as fifth fastest for Purdue in 2012-13... also swam on the 800 free relay team at Big Tens that posted a season-best time and fourth-fastest mark in program history... was part of three of Purdue's five fastest 800 free relay teams in 2012-13... accounted for four team points at the Purdue Invitational by placing fifth in the B final of the 200 free... also helped his 800 free relay team win heat 1 at the Purdue Invite... won the 200 free in dual meet wins against Florida Atlantic and Michigan State... helped his 800 free relay team win in the dual victory at Miami (Ohio)... placed in the top three of the 200 and 500 free in dual meet at No. 1-ranked Michigan.
