Boilermakers Prepare for Brown, Harvard This Weekend
The Purdue Boilermakers men's swim team is ranked 19th this week by the College Swim Coaches Association of America going into a tough weekend against Brown and 18th ranked Harvard.
The Boilers are 2-0 and are coming off a 19th place finish at the NCAA's a year ago. "It's nice to be recognized by your peers," head coach Dan Ross said. "It really means a lot to both the coaching staff and the athletes, we have worked very hard to get where we are." They face 18th ranked Harvard Sunday in Cambridge, Mass. "They are loaded," Ross said. "They have eight seniors and six guys who competed at the NCAA's last year," he continued.
Purdue is led by junior All-American Vilmos Kovacs and boasts five seniors, Mike Ullom, Frank Smardo, Ross Croasdell, Larry Becker and Jason Ozias. They will be in action Friday at Brown and Sunday at Harvard.
