Kovacs, Watts Place at Senior Nationals

Swim team does well at the Nationals.

Purdue junior Vilmos Kovacs placed third in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:17.88 on day two of the U.S. Senior National Championships in Minneapolis, Minn. Kovacs also placed third in the consolation finals of the 100 breaststroke on day four with a time of 1:04.53.

Senior Marisa Watts placed ninth in the finals of the 1500-meter freestyle with a time of 16:55.03. Watts also finished 17th in the 800-meter freestyle (8:54.35) and 24th in the 400 freestyle (4:23.90)

Sophomore Gerald Koh finshed 25th in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:08.40. and 36th in the 200 individual medley (2:12.16), while Juan Rodela placed 26th in the 200 back (2:08.60) and 45th in the 50 free (25.18).
