Head men's swimming coach Dan Ross and his team have their final dual meet of the season Saturday, February 7 against Indiana in Bloomington.
The Boilermakers own a 11-1 record in dual meets and are ranked 21st by the CSCA. “ We have been swimming well of late, but that won’t matter against them,” head coach Dan Ross said. Indiana finished third last year at the Big Ten’s and is ranked 25th by the CSCA. They are one of two or three teams competing with Purdue for a spot in the upper echelon of the Big Ten, alongside perennial powers Michigan and Minnesota. “It will be an exciting meet, they have excellent divers and a solid group of seniors.” Purdue has not won in Bloomington since the 1950’s. “We know it will be close, but we’re not going down there to lose,” Ross added.
Purdue is coming off a split in a dual meet with Wisconsin and Minnesota last weekend. Junior Vilmos Kovacs, who set two pool records last weekend, was named the Big Ten's, men's swimming Athlete-of-the-Month for January.
