WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Shaun Guice of the Purdue men's track and field team picked up All-America honors Saturday at the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. Guice placed second in the high jump with a mark of 2.26m/17-5.00.

Charles Clinger of Weber State won first place in the event. Although he and Guice made the same height, Clinger cleared the bar on his first attempt and Guice on his second.

Guice's mark of 7-5.00 sets yet another new school record for the Lima, Ohio native. In addition, Saturday's All-America honor marks his third time receiving such an honor.

"This was a great accomplishment by Shaun," head coach Mike Poehlien said. "I am extremely proud of him. This is his third honor in the event and I feel that is remarkable."

Chris Brown placed 12th in the shot put with a mark of 18.12m/59-5.50. Janus Robberts of SMU won first with a toss of 21.36m/70-1.00.
