WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The No. 31 Purdue men’s golf team will continue its fall schedule this weekend when it makes the short trip to Skokie, Ill., to take on a quality field at the Windon Memorial Classic.

Northwestern will host the 54-hole event at Evanston Golf Club, a par-70, 6,793-yard facility in Skokie. Teams will play 36 holes on Sunday before wrapping up the tournament with a final 18 on Monday.

Six of the field’s 17 teams, including the 31st-ranked Boilermakers, head into the Windon Memorial Classic ranked in the top 50 of the latest Golfweek/Sagarin index. Sixth-ranked Arkansas will be the highest-ranked team in Skokie, while No. 17 UCLA, No. 36 Charlotte, No. 40 Indiana and No. 47 Idaho will also be in attendance. Big Ten foes Michigan and Northwestern, the host of the event, will also be part of the competition.

The Boilers will be led into action by senior Tyler Duncan, who moved up to No. 7 in the Golfweek/Sagarin individual ratings this week following a runner-up showing at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational. The Columbus, Ind., native has earned top-three finishes in each of Purdue’s fall tournaments to date, and has been at par or better in eight the Boilermakers’ nine round this fall.

Freshman Justin Cho will make his second-straight start for the Boilers after tying for 18th place in his collegiate debut at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational. The effort in Dublin, Ohio, moved Cho up to No. 85 in the Golfweek/Sagarin ratings.

Freshman Ben-Marvin Egel will play No. 3 for the Boilermakers, while sophomore Adam Schenk will play No. 4 and redshirt freshman Enzo Perez will play No. 5. Junior Jakob Ziegler will make the trip to Skokie and play the tournament as an individual.


 

 

Competition at the Windon Memorial Classic will get under way with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday. Monday’s action will commence with tee times that will be dependent on Sunday’s results. Live results for the tournament will be available at golfstatresults.com.
