The Purdue men's golf team is set to host the PING/Golfweek Preview at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on Sept. 22 and 23. One of the premier tournaments in college golf, this year's Preview features five teams ranked in the top 10 of Golfweek's preseason poll, and 14 of the top 30.
Golfweek will provide live streaming of the tournament. Lance Ringler and Jay Coffin will call the action from the 18th hole during the final round of the Preview. Fans can catch all the great play by logging on to golfweek.com/live. A link to the live video can also be found on purduesports.com.
The Preview provides teams expected to compete at the 2008 NCAA Championships an opportunity to play the NCAA tournament venue, Purdue's Kampen Course, a par-72, 7,467-yard, Pete Dye designed layout.
The field includes the host team, Purdue, third-ranked Alabama, fifth-ranked Southern Cal, sixth-ranked Florida, eight-ranked UNLV and 10th-ranked Oklahoma State. Rounding out the competition is No. 13 Florida State, No. 15 Charlotte No. 16 Coastal Carolina, No. 17 Texas A&M, No. 18 Arizona State, No. 20 Louisville, No. 24 Lamar, No. 25 Minnesota and No. 28 Georgia State.
The 54-hole tournament begins Saturday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. A second round will follow in the afternoon, with the final 18 holes played on Sunday based on tee times starting at 8:30 a.m.
