WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's golf team will make its home debut on Sunday when it plays host to a nine-team field for the Purdue/Midwest Shootout at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.
The par-72, 7,465-yard Kampen Course will be the venue for the 36-hole competition, which is set to begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. ET. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.
In addition to the host Boilermakers, the field for the Purdue/Midwest Shootout is comprised of Bradley, Chicago State, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Illinois Wesleyan, Loyola (Ill.), Southern Illinois and Valparaiso.
Fresh off of a tie for sixth place at the season-opening Northern Intercollegiate, freshman Jonathan DiIanni will play No. 1 for the Boilermakers. The Kernersville, N.C., native shot 221 (+8) at Rich Harvest Farms last weekend to earn a top-10 finish in his collegiate debut.
Junior Adam Schenk will play No. 2 for Purdue on Sunday, with sophomore Justin Cho slated for the No. 3 position. Schenk finished 17th in last weekend's season opener, while Cho took a share of 25th place. Redshirt freshman Enzo Perez will man the No. 4 position, and sophomore Ben-Marvin Egel will make his season debut in the fifth spot in the lineup.
As the host of the tournament, the Boilers will also have redshirt freshman David Cooke, freshman Stuart Macdonald, sophomore Edward Peters, redshirt freshman Jake Thompson and senior Jakob Ziegler playing as individuals in the Purdue/Midwest Shootout.
