COLUMBUS, Ohio - Junior Adam Schenk shot 74 (+3) on Saturday to finish the NCAA Columbus Regional in a tie for ninth place.

The Vincennes, Ind., native finished with a total of 217 (+4), wrapping up his season with his best-career showing in the NCAA Regional round in his third-career appearance.

Schenk was in the running for a spot at this month's NCAA Championships in Atlanta, needing to finish as the top player not on a team advancing from Columbus. He made a late run for the coveted spot with three birdies on his second nine on Saturday, but couldn't catch Virginia's Denny McCarthy for the individual spot.

Schenk's performance in Columbus capped a season in which he became Purdue's first All-Big Ten first team selection since 2007 and earned a place on the All-Big Ten Championships Team.
