WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Accomplished Swiss amateur Philippe Schweizer has signed a National Letter of Intent and will begin competing for the Purdue men's golf program in the fall of 2013.
In 2012, Schweizer advanced to the second stage of the European Tour Q-School after finishing fifth in the first stage with a total of 281 (-5). Earlier that year, he finished second at the Omnium Suisse and third at the Championat de Suisse Romande.
In February of this year, Schweizer took fifth at the FCWT at Inverrary Golf Club in Lauderhill, Fla., with a score of 149 (+5). He picked up two wins on the junior circuit in 2011, finishing first at the Credit Suisse Junior Tour and the Plantations Junior Golf Tour in Orlando.
Schweizer has nine victories worldwide as a junior player.
