WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men’s golf team its lone home tournament of the spring this weekend when it heads an 18-team field in the Boilermaker Invitational at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.
There is no admission fee for the tournament and the public is invited to attend.
The 54-hole event will be contested on the BBGC’s Kampen Course, a par-72, 7,465-yard track that has been ranked fourth on the Golf Channel’s list of the top 10 college courses. Competitors will play 36 holes (continuous play) from an 8:45 a.m. ET shotgun start on Saturday, and will traverse the final 18 holes on Sunday with the same starting time and procedure.
Sophomore Enzo Perez, who leads the team with 95.5 percent of his rounds counted toward the team score this season and ranks second on the team with a 74.86 stroke average, has been tabbed to play in the No. 1 position for the Boilers this weekend. Junior Adam Schenk, the team leader with a 73.68 scoring average, will play No. 2 for Purdue.
Sophomores Ben-Marvin Egel and Justin Cho will play Nos. 3 and 4, respectively, this weekend, while senior Jakob Ziegler mans the No. 5 position. Freshmen David Cooke and Jonathan DiIanni will both compete in the tournament as individuals.
