WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Registration for the 2014 Purdue Coaches Golf School opened this week in preparation for the June 16-20 event. The four-day camp provides golfers ages 11-to-18 with access to several NCAA Division I head coaches and golfers in addition to the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex's Ackermann Hills and Kampen golf courses.

Led by Purdue Golf Director and head women's golf coach Devon Brouse, the 2014 Coaches Golf School includes "academic enhancement," which is a series of evening seminars on study skills, time management, stress management, and preparing academically for college golf. Students will complete daily station rotations that cover every phase of the game. Topics such as fitness, tournament preparation, course strategy, rules, equipment, and psychology are also covered. Students will also participate in competitive intramural and recreational activities. Everyone will take home a school notebook, which will include the week's written notes on instruction, analysis of swing and equipment, and drill recommendations for future improvement. Coach Devon Brouse, the golf school's director, heads a highly motivated instructional staff consisting of other PGA professionals and top college coaches. Their expert instruction is exceeded only by their willingness and desire to help junior players develop and refine their skills.

In addition to Brouse, the event will be staffed by Purdue men's head coach Rob Bradley, Boilermaker assistant coaches Brian Brodell (men's) and Caroline Hegg (women's), Gardner-Webb head coach Tee Burton, Virginia Tech men's head coach Jay Hardwick, Kent State women's head coach Greg Robertson and Northwestern men's assistant coach David Ingles. Golfers will stay in a newly-renovated, air-conditioned dormitory near the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, minimizing any travel time to-and-from lodging and the courses.
