WINDERMERE, Fla. - The Purdue men's golf team wrapped up the fall season Tuesday with an 11th-place finish at the prestigious Tavistock Invitational held at Isleworth Country Club.

The Boilermakers tallied a 54-hole score of 17-over par 881 (291-292-298) to finish 23 shots behind champion California (-6; 858). Illinois and Florida finished tied for second, just one shot behind the Golden Bears, while Vanderbilt was fourth at 3-under par 861. Auburn rounded out the top five at even-par 864.

North Florida, LSU, Texas Tech, North Carolina and Arizona completed the top 10.

Purdue defeated top-50 squads Arizona State (26th) and UCF (45th) and lost to just one team (Arizona) ranked outside the nation's top 50.

Freshman Joe Weiler turned in one of his best rounds of his career Tuesday, firing a 1-under par 71 to finish the three rounds in 4-over par 220 (73-76-71), good for a 31st-place tie. Weiler birdied No. 16 to move to 2-under par on his round, but a bogey-par finish dropped him to a final-round 71, one of 21 players under par Tuesday. His 71 marked his fourth career round of even-par or better.

Brian Carlson and Timmy Hildebrand also tied for 31st at 4-over par 220. Both posted identical round scores of 72-73-75=220. Carlson was 4-over par through five holes, but climbed all the way back to 2-over par through 14 holes, before a bogey on No. 15 dropped him back to 3-over par 75 for his round.

Hildebrand was even-par through 11 holes, but bogeyed three of his last seven holes to finish with his 75.

Cole Bradley finished tied for 51st at 8-over par 224 (77-70-77). Bradley was 1-over par after back-to-back birdies on Nos. 6 and 7, but went bogey-double bogey on his next two holes and played the back nine in 1-over par for his 77.

Jason Hong placed 88th at 23-over par 239 (74-80-85).

The tournament concludes Purdue's fall schedule. The Boilermakers have a head-to-head record of 34-31-1 through five tournaments and are ranked 62nd in the most-recent Golfweek national rankings.
