GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Purdue men's golf team got off to a slow start at the SunTrust Gator Invitational, the first tournament of the championship season for the Boilermakers. After the first day, with two rounds played, Purdue is in 14th place with a total score of 602. Wake Forest leads the tournament with a score of 568 and host Florida is in second place, just one stroke behind at 569.

Individually, Purdue got strong play from seniors Pariya Junhasavasdikul and Peter Richardson, who are both tied for 11th after two rounds. Junhasavasdikul did it by shooting a two-under par 68 to start the tournament, followed by a second round 74. Richardson had two rounds of 71 on the par 70 course.

Sophomore Tom Oliver carded rounds of 81 and 76 to tie for 69th place and junior Brandon Lawson and sophomore Michael Randle are tied in 72nd place with two-round scores of 163.

The final round of play begins at 8 a.m. Sunday at the University of Florida golf course in Gainesville, Fla.
