Junior Season (2000-01)
Played in all 14 events and had a season-high 40 rounds and a team-best average of 73.33 ... selected PING All-America Honorable Mention, All-Big Ten First Team and All-Big Ten Championship Team ... led the Boilermakers to a share of the NCAA Central Regional Championship with a three-round 74-69-73=216, good enough for a fifth-place share in the individual list, and had Purdue’s second-best effort at the NCAA Championships with a 77-73=150 showing prior to the Boilermakers missing the cut ... notched a best round of 68 in the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. ... took top honors at the Dr. Pepper Intercollegiate ... placed third at the Kepler Invitational ... played in all five fall events for the Boilers ... best finishes: second at the PSI Net Invitational at Minnesota … tie for fourth at the Northern Intercollegiate hosted by Illinois … led Purdue to the team title of the Northern … carded a sixth-place finish at the Pepperdine Strata Invitational ... low fall round: 70 ... had a fabulous summer, winning the Indiana Match Play Championship, tied four second at the Indiana Public Links Championship, third at the Indiana Amateur, eighth at the Indiana Open, and final eight in the North South Amateur in Pinehurst, N.C.
Sophomore Season (1999-2000)
Named to the All-Big Ten Team, and the All- Big Ten Championship Team … in the fall, was one of three Boilers to participate in all five tournaments … finished tied for ninth with a score of 224 at the Northern Intercollegiate … shot a fall season low round of 71 during the final round of the Purina Challenge … shot a three-round score of 217 to place tied for 26th at the Purina Challenge … finished the fall season with a 226 to tie for 13th at the Mauna Kea Resort Invitational. Played all events in the spring ... best finishes: tied for third place in the Big Ten Championship earning him All-Championship Team and All-Big Ten honors … he led the Boilers to a second-place finish in the Big Ten Championship … finished tied for third at the First Energy Invitational at Firestone C.C., shooting a career-low 65 in the closing round as he birdied his last six holes ... his 65 is the third-best round in Purdue history … placed in a tie for seventh at the Dr. Pepper Intercollegiate in Pottsboro, Tex. ... led the Boilermakers with the lowest stroke average on the team of 74.33.
Freshman Season (1998-99)
One of two Boilers to participate in all nine tournaments in the spring (the other was Ryan Miller) ... second on the team with a 75.32-stroke average ... tops on the team in three tournaments in the spring (Big Ten’s, Cobra, UNC Classic) ... led the team with 67 birdies in the spring ... tied for 29th place at Big Ten’s ... carded a 67 in the fourth round of Big Ten’s (tied him with 13 other Purdue golfers for 10th place on the Boilers’ lowest round in school history) ... tied for eighth place with teammate Ryan Cate at the Cobra Collegiate ... carded a one-under-par 69 to help propel Boilers to victory at the Cobra Collegiate ... participated in all five of the Boilers’ fall tourneys ... best finish was third with a five-over-par 146 in the Adams Cup ... placed 23rd overall and second on the team at the Stan Sheriff Invitational with a three-round score of 230 ... led the Boilers for the fall in fairways hit (76.29 percent), up and down (56.34 percent) and birdies (2.79 per round) ... recorded 39 birdies, tops on the team.
A four-year letterwinner at Southmont ... four-time team Most Valuable Player and three-time all-state selection ... averaged 71 strokes as a senior ... helped lead Southmont to the 1998 sectional championship ... also earned three letters in football and two letters in basketball ... led the basketball team in rebounding and was named co-offensive MVP as a senior ... a scholar-athlete and member of the National Honor Society.
