Boiler Golfers in Bruce Fossum Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's golf team will be competing in The Spartan/Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich. on April 26-27. This will be Purdue's fifth competition this spring. The Boilers highest finish came in The Citadel Invitational on Mar. 14-15 when they placed fourth of 15 teams.

Purdue has been led by sophomore Bert Jones throughout the spring. Jones has been Purdues' best in two of the four tournaments this spring. He shot a career-low round of 69 in The Legends of Indiana Intercollegiate on April 18. He finished that 54-hole tournament with a score of 213, placing him fourth in the Purdue records book in that category. This performance brought Joned to a tie for fourth place.

Also helping the Boilers' cause have been juniors Harry Channon and Jim Sudac. Channon has played in all four tournaments and has a 77.4 stroke average. Sudac, though having played in just the last two tournaments, has a 74.5 stroke average, which ties Jones for lowest on the team.
