2012 Texas Sports Hall of Fame Class

Purdue's all-time leading passer Drew Brees has been elected to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Brees, along with seven other Texas sports legends, will be inducted on Feb. 13, 2013, in Waco.

Brees lettered at Purdue from 1997-2000 and left with the most career attempts (1,678), completions (1,026), passing yards (11,792), passing touchdowns (90), total offense (12,692) and the highest career completion percentage (61.1).

He also set, in some cases numerous times, season marks for attempts (569, 1998), completions (361, 1998), passing yards (3,983, 1998), passing touchdowns (39, 1998) and total offense (4,189, 2000).

All of his career school records still stand, while all but the passing yardage among his season records remain atop the Purdue lists.

His senior year, Brees was named the Academic All-American of the Year, Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and the Maxwell Award winner.
