WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The sixth Boiler Bridge Walk of the 2011 Purdue football season is set for Friday.

The first 80 Purdue fans aged 12 and under to arrive at the Sonya L. Margerum Fountain on the West Lafayette side of the bridge will lead the Boilermakers this week and receive a ticket voucher to Saturday's game against Ohio State at Ross-Ade Stadium. Kickoff is noon.

Every Friday before home games, members of the Purdue football team meet and greet their fellow citizens of Lafayette and West Lafayette as they walk across the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge.

Fans of all ages are invited to join Purdue Pete, the cheerleaders, Boilermaker Special and community leaders.

A different youth organization leads the team from the Sonya L. Margerum Fountain on the West Lafayette side of the bridge across to Riehle Plaza, and the Purdue players handout giveaway items each week.

This week's sponsors are Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health, which supplied the cinch tote bags that the players will give out, and Blaze Modern BBQ, which will be serving pulled pork, pulled chicken, baked beans, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese.

The Boiler Bridge Walk gets under way when the team arrives around 5:40 p.m., but fans should arrive early to get a good spot on the Myers Bridge.
