WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -
Jon Goldsberry and Taylor Stubblefield will take the Slayter Center stage at the Homecoming pep rally on Thursday for a warm-up to Saturday's game with unbeaten Wisconsin.
The senior co-captains will join coach Joe Tiller in the limelight shortly after 7:30 p.m.
The "All-American" Marching Band and auxiliaries will start the festivities, followed by the cheerleaders.
The grid boss and team captains Stubblefield and Goldsberry will address the crowd as preparations are made for the College GameDay broadcast from Rankin Track and Field, just across Stadium Avenue.
Purdue hosts GameDay and Cold Pizza this weekend. No other school can make the claim of having both ESPN shows on campus at the same time.
Goldsberry returned to action against Penn State in the 20-13 win after missing the Illinois and Notre Dame games due to mononucleosis. Now a converted fullback, Goldsberry was "gunner" on special teams and is an enduring crowd favorite at Ross-Ade Stadium.
Stubblefield became the Big Ten career receptions leader against Penn State, passing John Standeford's mark of 266. His total stands at 271. A highlight film waiting to happen, Stubblefield averages 16.2 yards per reception.
Tiller stands at 99-62-1 in 14 years as a collegiate head coach and will reach the century with a win on Saturday. He is 60-32 overall at Purdue and 38-20 in the Big Ten.
The rock band Wasted Days will perform from 6 p.m. until WAZY-FM takes over with music until 7:30.
The All-American Marching Band takes the stage at 7:30.
