WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Two ESPN shows on campus. Homecoming. The Boilermakers ranked fifth in the nation and 5-0 with the 10th-ranked and undefeated Wisconsin Badgers coming to town.

Pardon the cliché, but it doesn't get any better than this.

Details are being worked out with ESPN and ESPN2 for two shows being broadcast live from campus on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, "Cold Pizza" will originate from Ross-Ade Stadium. That same day, a SportsCenter segment will be taped and, on Saturday, College GameDay will be broadcast live.

"We need numbers and we need volume," said Jay Cooperider, associate athletics director. "We need our legion of fans to turn out early and stay late because we want to take full advantage of this ESPN trifecta.

"We can't open up the tailgate lots on Friday, but we are asking folks to make it to campus early on Friday, late afternoon on Friday and early on Saturday."

Cooperider encourages fans to be on campus at three different times for live and taped segments:

* Early morning on Friday, when ESPN2's "Cold Pizza" will originate live from the stadium. Details of the location are still being worked out, but plenty of free parking will be available north of the stadium. Air time is 7 a.m. Lafayette time.

* Mid-afternoon Friday for taping of a GameDay segment that will be shown on SportsCenter Friday night. Scheduled time for the taping is between 4 and 5 p.m. The location for the taping and the live show on Saturday is Rankin Track and Field at the corner of Stadium Avenue and Intramural Drive. There is plenty of free parking in the lot west of Rankin Track and Field. Enter from Stadium Avenue.

No overnight camping will be permitted, except inside recreational vehicles with a permit.

* Early Saturday, well in advance of the 9:30 air time for College GameDay.

"On Saturday, fans coming to the game can plan to park in their regular permit or pay lots and mass at Rankin Track and Field for GameDay," Cooperider said. "Fans who want to come to just be in the throng on Saturday can park in pay lots for $10 or parking garages for free."
