WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Big Ten Conference announced today that the Purdue-Notre Dame football game next Saturday, Sept. 29, at Ross-Ade Stadium will kick off at noon ET.
The game will be televised by ESPN and is sold out.
The Boilermakers are 4-0 (1-0 Big Ten) with four impressive victories, including last night's 45-31 win at Minnesota in their conference opener.
Purdue and Notre Dame have met 78 times previously (since 1896), with the Fighting Irish holding a 51-25-2 advantage. Notre Dame is 24-13-2 in games played in West Lafayette. The teams last met Sept. 30, 2006, with the Irish winning 35-21 in South Bend. The Boilermakers are 4-6 against the Irish under head coach Joe Tiller, including 3-2 in West Lafayette. Purdue's last victory was a 41-16 verdict in South Bend on Oct. 2, 2004.
