WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The second Boiler Bridge Walk of the 2011 Purdue football season is set for Friday.

Members of Westside Flag Football are this week's youth community leaders.

Every Friday before home games, members of the Purdue football team meet and greet their fellow citizens of Lafayette and West Lafayette as they walk across the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge.

Fans of all ages are invited to join Purdue Pete, the cheerleaders, Boilermaker Special and community leaders.

A different youth organization leads the team from the fountain on the West Lafayette side of the bridge across to Riehle Plaza, and the Purdue players handout giveaway items each week.

This week's sponsors are St. Elizabeth Franciscan Hospital, which supplied the rally towels that the players will give out, and Nine Irish Brothers, which will be serving Shepherd's Pie.

The Boiler Bridge Walk gets under way when the team arrives around 5:40 p.m., but fans should arrive early to get a good spot on the Myers Bridge.

The Big Ten's Honoring Legends. Building Leaders. Mobile Tour will join up with the football team busses and Boilermaker Special to head to the Boiler Bridge Walk this week. Upon arrival, the RV will continue to the east side of the Wabash River and park at Lafayette Savings Bank until 7 p.m.
